Well it's been busy around here. With my 16 year old driving, work, soccer etc. but we are getting through.
Indoor soccer starts next Friday. I'm a little nervous about that one but oh well.
Brad thinks my drier is on its last leg :-( it's only a few years old. They just don't make appliances like they used to. My mom is still using the same washer and dryer from like 25 years ago. I'm on my 3rd set in 16 years.
I'm reading several awesome books right now. One in particular. I just have it on hold because I can't seem to stop working long enough to finish it.
Anyway, lunch break is over.
Bye

Gratz Fair

Today was a busy day. All 4 boys had soccer games and they all won. I am so proud to watch my boys playing and having fun. Josh and Micah were invited to go to the Gratz Fair with two boys who are brothers and play on their teams. So Brad decided the rest of us would also go to the fair. I do not like the fair. For our sized family it cost a FORTUNE. $8 per person to get in!!! I guess in a small town like we live in people love it, but not me... Anyway, I went along this year, and sat and waited as kids got on rides. Girls begged me to go on this one ride. NEVER AGAIN! I was so sick. It was the umberella one that goes in the air. I had my eyes closed the whole time and felt sick. But I could hear them laughing at me. I just can't do rides anymore after having kids.

Tomorrow I have a new friend and her son coming to church with us. This will be so special for her to come. I hope she enjoys the message. I enjoying visiting with her. It is one of Micahs team members mothers.

Well I am beat. Off to bed soon for this lady. Too much excitement for the day. Lol

Back again in 2015

I think I always start this with it has been a while. But it truly has. It's been a few years since I am on this blog, and I hopefully can keep it better updated.
Just a recap, and I will try and get a picture soon... oldest daughter is Kayla, 16 (graduating high school this year), Joshua, 14, Laura, 13, Micah, 11, Timothy, 9, Brad, 8.
Homeschooling started again this year, so a new year begins. Kayla is excited because it is her last year. Josh is starting high school this year and to him it's school so... But he is doing well so far.

It has been a busy couple of years with my mom being sick with cancer... and now having COPD on top of it. Brad Sr. being pretty sick as well with his birth defect. But we are being seen and treated now at John Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. Everything is trial and error with him and the doctors because what he has is rare, but they are on to something new this year, we will see how it works.

We have started attending another church, and it is great! The kids are learning so much. The youth group is good and godly, and the Bible taught and scripture memory is awesome. The teens do nursing home ministry as a group and have some awesome fellowship afterwards.
This year on Mother's Day actually, my van decided to not work once I got to church. Alternator died. Brad and his friend Mark had to change it right in the parking lot :-(    But all kids got to go to the nursing home and minister, I got to wait and "supervise" while the men worked on the car... There were other willing helpers from church who would have lent a hand, but it was handled (with a few finger cuts, and unhappiness because how do they fit these things in those small spaces?) Anyway...

All 4 boys started playing baseball in spring of 2013. 4 boys on 3 different teams.... Brad also had surgery that year so I was stuck with a lot of running. My mother in law and sister had to jump in and help a few times because it was impossible. The boys did well and I am so glad they played. Didn't know they had such talent. Micah made all star team his first year playing ball. Then year two came along... Josh had to move up to teener ball (I feel bad he started so late, such a disadvantage for him). He did well tho, and I am very proud of him. Micah made all star team again second year. Tournament one they won first place and second tournament they had double elimination, but they made it toward the end... and got out. Tim and Brad make an awesome pitcher/catcher team, and they enjoy playing so much.

Well fall 2015 and the boys are trying their feet (?) at soccer.... Run, run, run.... But they LOVE it! And let me tell you, they will definitely be in shape after this. They all play really well. Micah is very aggressive, which you need in soccer, Josh has awesome footwork (but his first game playing he got a little nervous on the field, soccer is completely new to them, with positions etc.) But Josh did well for his first time, and like I said, he has awesome footwork, Tim and Brad.... They are on a younger kid team, their first game they played they tied 2-2. I think they both did well. Tim and Micah got to be goal keeper in their game. And I believe all my kids play midfielder or striker... I think, like I said soccer is all new to us.

Laura is joining the choir at church, and Kayla still loves to play the piano. She was just tonight given the book to study for her drivers permit... Oh no!
We took Kayla to Sight and Sound for her 16th Birthday, and Sonic, that restaurant... That was on her bucket list that she can now cross off. :-) She saw Joseph. It was just her, Brad, and I. No other kids. That is rare at this house, so that alone was special. Of course, as hard as I tried to keep it all a secret, she still suspected it.
Laura and Kayla's birthday are exactly 3 years apart, so for her 13th birthday, we didn't do anything different really.. just normal cake and gifts at home. I didn't do anything special for Kayla when she turned 13... so I guess Sweet 16 (and what do you call it for boys?) will be the "Special Birthday".

All the kids got CPR certified this past year too. They really enjoyed that. It was a few hour class and they each had their own "dummy" to do CPR on, and they also got a class on First Aid. Laura wants to be a nurse, so this was right up her alley.

Well I think that is an overall catchup for our home... More to come... or so that's the plan. Maybe I will break it down to more detail about mom, and Brad's problem, and then focus on the things that happen with the kids...

The Kids

Wow, looking at that picture in the beginning as you come on this page is so funny. That hasn't been changed in a while. The kids look so young! Kayla is now 12!!! A few of the kids have had braces now and one is even out of them already!
Well, we started school this year really good, but with the holidays and sickness in the house for over a month we really need to get back on track.
I'll stop back later when I have more time.

Catch up

Well, I have not written on here in a while, and it is not that nothing new goes on here. Josh and Laura started taking piano lessons last Wednesday. Micah wants to do the same, but he will have to wait till we can afford it. Maybe Kayla can help him from home.

The Christmas play is over and it went well. The kids all (even little Brad) said their lines, and played the handbells. I love the handbells, so do the kids.

We started school again this past week and don't you know my grandmother passed away. I went away to Philadelphia (where I am originally from) Thursday and Friday, so they only got 3 days in in their first week back. Lucky them. Hubby stayed at home and watched them. I had a lot of fun visiting with family that I have not seen in years. (Although I still had that guilty feeling in the back of my head). I guess that is motherhood...

The kids got a pool table and it flips over to be a air hockey table for Christmas. They love it.
Josh takes the trash to the dumpster via a tobaggan, he likes that too. So now all the kids get a ride when he takes the trash to the dumpster. don't get me wrong, we don't have that much snow here, but they make d0 ;)
All of our Christmas decorations are down, well not all, but the rest will probably stay till next year the way I put decorations away, if they are not in my way (like the lights around the window) then they are last on my list.
Well, I better go. Talk to you later

The things kids say

The things kids say. I have so many I really should write them down as they happen because I tend to forget them then. But one cute one I remember just happened the other day:
Little Brad (2 yrs) was coming down the basement steps. I had just shut the big bilco doors (the kind that lays on teh ground outside to get in the basement you pull up). they were left open from the night before so there was snow on the steps and of course the door. When I shut the doors snow came all over me (boy was that cold).
I go over to the steps and said to brad, what happened to me, how did snow get on me. He kind of smiled and said you shut the door (he heard it).
I said, what do i do now? He looked thought for a split second and you could almost see the lightbulb go off and he said "I will go get you a towel", he spins around on the steps and goes to go upstairs. lol
I stopped him, there was so much snow on me, I had to get changed. But his thought process was cute.

Well, gotta go
Talk to you later
